While home delivery demand skyrocketed during the earliest stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the e-commerce sector’s pace of growth is finally beginning to slow. March 2022 saw e-commerce sales grow a minuscule 2.6% year over year — the weakest gain in more than three years — as consumers endure the impact of inflation. And although the dwindling daily volume of residential packages is impacting shipping and receiving companies like UPS, UPS’ largest customer, Amazon, recently unveiled “Buy with Prime,” which enables consumers to leverage their Prime benefits on websites outside of Amazon.
